Seeking a content developer to contribute to the production of high-quality training courses in sustainability reporting.
Job description
Start Date: ASAP
Work hours: 40 hrs p/w (full-time, flexible)
Location: Remote/Hybrid (within +/- 1 hour CET; candidate must have an existing permit to live and work in the country they reside)
Contract: 1 year with the possibility for an extension by mutual consent
Salary: €35,000 – €38,000 gross per annum on a full-time basis
Position Summary
Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) is the independent nonprofit organization that is the architect of the common global language to assess and report on environmental, social, and economic impacts. GRI provides standards, tools, and training that empower organizations of all sizes to create sustainable, long-term value and unlock positive change in the world.
For over 25 years, GRI has led a global multi-stakeholder process to develop and refine rigorous yet practical approaches to sustainability reporting, which meet the needs of all stakeholders. The GRI Standards, the world’s most widely used sustainability reporting standards, provide the building blocks for transparent reporting on impacts. We are seeking a content developer to contribute to developing training courses and presentations by independently creating educational materials and actively participating as assigned in course development projects managed by senior content developers. This role will report to the Head of Education.
Responsibilities
Delivery
Create educational products such as eLearning courses and presentations using instructional design principles to ensure the materials are engaging, effective, and tailored to adult learners.
Take part in the evaluation of existing educational materials. Analyze feedback data and provide improvement proposals based on instructional design theory to ensure the materials meet the highest standards of learner understanding and retention.
Conduct research as directed on various topics related to sustainability reporting or training course development.
Communicate with subject matter experts, both internal and external, as required. Maintain routine communications with external suppliers.
Gain and/or maintain an excellent level of knowledge of the GRI Standards as well as other reporting frameworks and the reporting landscape in general.
Engagement
Occasionally deliver online presentations on sustainability reporting-related topics to internal audiences.
Participate in programs/projects with other departments that educate sustainability reporting practitioners, with the goal of improving the reporting process and sustainability disclosures.
Job requirements
Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) in sustainability, ESG, or sustainable development.
At least 2 years of experience in writing content and developing learning materials and able to show examples of work during the job interview.
Hands-on experience with graphic design tools and advanced working knowledge of PowerPoint. Experience with tools like Articulate and Camtasia is a plus.
Experience with sustainability reporting and the GRI Standards is a plus.
Knowledge and abilities
Able to grasp complex concepts and communicate them clearly to a variety of audiences.
Fluency in both spoken and written English; an additional language skills are a plus.
Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural setting.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment where change is ongoing.
Affinity with the mission of GRI.
